Updating nxe from hdd

All I could hear was the familiar 'whooshing' sound that happens when you first turn on the XBOX, and the sound of me signing in, ect (so audio works fine)! As I told the less-than-helpful tech support people over the phone, the day prior to the update I could use all the features on my 360 including the most important one, play all my games. I even tried deleting it from my HDD, and playing it with CD only. But when I restarted the XBOX, the image for the XBOX didn't come up! I have had nothing but problems since updating my console.After about 20-30 seconds it righted its self without me having to restart my 360...

After installing the new update (NXE), I tried the 'Installing CD to my HDD' option with Call of Duty 4.
